Nanny had a brain fart...

Date Posted: 15th Feb 2014 at 1:34 AM

Both of my Sim parents were at work and this happened:

Nanny had put the toddler in the high chair, but instead of giving her the bottles, she just put them on the floor. This went on until the kid's mother came home from work hours later. The kid was starving, and the place was a mess. And I didn't even have the option to fire the lousy nanny!

(I took the picture after about a third of the bottles had already been cleaned up. I'm debating whether to hire a maid, make my Sims do it, or just delete the bottles in Buy Mode...)

More unisex tops coming soon...

Date Posted: 26th Nov 2013 at 2:33 AM

There are some nice Sims 3 clothes that others have converted for Sims 2, but most of those pieces are for teens and adults. I've been working on age-converting a nice v-neck sweater for kids. I had to remove a ton of vertices in the arms and a few around the shoulders because there were SO MANY extra, unnecessary ones and they were doing things like making my Sims' arms look like wavy tentacles that were coming out of donut-hole shoulders (yeah... it was weird). The mesh is still slightly glitchy around the neck when the Sim really contorts, but I'm not going to stress too much about it. Sometimes there are trade-offs when you're dealing with these sorts of meshes.

At least removing all those vertices got the poly count down. It was a little scary, especially since it was just a top.

All that's left to do is the... say it with me, now... FAT MORPH!

I don't think I'll ever enjoy making those things.

Holiday sets and some Athletic wear...

Date Posted: 12th Nov 2013 at 7:13 PM

Well, the holiday sets are uploaded. The kids' one was up before I even finished submitting the toddler one! I guess I caught a moderator at the right time.

I've got another set ready to go. This time it's some Athletic wear for girls. But I might wait to put it up until I've made something for boys as well...

Upcoming holiday sets for kids and toddlers...

Date Posted: 7th Nov 2013 at 9:18 PM

I've been working on some holiday attire for my Sims, something that they can wear for both Everyday and Formal. I did the child pieces, and then figured that I'd better do some toddler ones as well. The toddler outfits aren't just age conversions of the child outfits, though. Yes, I do like to make more work for myself.

Anyway, here's a preview of the girls' holiday outfit:

Still gotta make the fat morphs...

SimModa's hair recolours

Date Posted: 18th Jul 2013 at 6:10 PM

Just so I don't have to keep repeating myself... No, I don't know where you can find SimModa's Maxis-match hair retextures for the Neena Tails. I'm seriously regretting having used SimModa-textured hair in so many of my screenshots; now it seems like half the comments I get are from people who just want the unavailable hair.

I understand that some folks might want to give up creating custom content or stop playing the game altogether. But it makes no sense to me why they would remove all the custom content that they shared with the community so that nobody else can enjoy it. Seriously... what's up with that?

Coming...

Date Posted: 3rd Jul 2013 at 11:10 PM

... as soon as I stop procrastinating and make the stupid fat morphs. Ugh... fat morphs for separates. There's no easier way to make a mesh explode (in my experience, anyway).

WIP

Date Posted: 4th May 2013 at 11:28 PM

I've been working on these little outfits, finishing things up now that I've gotten their shoes appropriately shiny. I still have to make the fat morphs, though, which I hate doing, especially when more than one mesh group is involved (too many chances to make a mistake and blow up the mesh)!

Tutorial for recolouring baby clothes

Date Posted: 21st Apr 2013 at 6:58 PM

I've had people ask me how to do this multiple times, and I direct them to a short tutorial I wrote back in 2008. It's hard to find, though (even for me, and I wrote the thing!), so I thought I'd put a link here in case anyone's interested:

Stuff that'll be going up when the uploads are back online...

Date Posted: 25th Feb 2013 at 1:01 AM

Of course, now that there's no working upload queue, I'm on a roll! Well, sort of. I've made more things in the past little while than I've made in months... and there's no way to share any of it!

Here are a few little previews of what I've been working on:
