Default What are some really nice Custom Worlds?
I'm looking to spice up The Sims 3 and want to use worlds not created by EA because of the issues with lag and such. I don't have all packs and I know some, like awesims' worlds, require you to have a lot of packs. Ones I don't have. I do have Ambitions, Generations, WA, LN, Seasons, and University along with one stuff pack (high-end loft stuff). I've never used a custom world before, but I have read some good things about using the right one from the right person. Any recommendations? Thanks so much in advance.

*I hope I'm posting in the right area as I get confused to where something like this belongs. I'm sorry if it's not in the right area*

Depends on what kind of world you want. Prepopulated or empty? Completely empty or already with buildings?

I personally like using Alocasia; it's an island-type world and only requires IP. It's not very big, but it has many lots and enough room to have majority of buildings on it, and still have room for more. It also has the diving areas from Isla Paradiso in it, which are neat to explore. Since it's empty, you have to build and populate yourself, but it does have spawners.
For a completely empty world, without spawners, I use Bigger Builder's Island. Most of it is flat, which makes it very easy for building, and it's still nicely sectioned.
I'm currently gonna try out one where I forget part of the name... Amber-something Pointe. It's a decent size, but empty. It does contain diving lots, so you can have the fun of creating your own type of diving lot there. Many decent-sized lots. Once I have it populated and built, I'll see how it plays.

Can't say I have done very much with prepopulated worlds.
Some are great, but I felt like they aren't that great for the long run, and I generally ended up having one or two sims that got stuck every few sim-hours. And it was generally the same sims.

Hi there - there's a thread with lots of custom worlds in it here: https://nene.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=433957

It's a bit old, and some links may no longer work, but the information is still good.

I always recommend mysimsrealty - https://my-sim-realty.blogspot.com/search/label/Worlds
There are lots of choices. Everything is well built plus there are different versions of each world depending on expansion.

Thanks for all the suggestions, everyone! I'm actually looking for populated right now or I would also take unpopulated but with lots. I don't have too much time to work on a completely unpopulated and unfilled world lol.

And if you google there are sites that list some of the most popular ones.

Mesa Grande is a really beautiful and well-done world. It's also populated since you were looking for that.

http://sims3.thesimscatalog.com/sim...ge/mesa-grande/

Edit: It also only requires the base game, so that's another plus!

If your game play doesn't require settling down immediately, then start with 6 households with 8 singles each and NRAAS Story Progression and watch the soap opera unfold as people get together, have babies, break up, and get together with different people. It's fun to download interesting looking sims from different places to do this and see who's features win.

Quailhogs has amazing, populated worlds with a lot of character. Definitely recommend them. : https://quailhogs.tumblr.com/Downloads
Aaronrogers' Strangetown is also amazing, populated and quite maxis-match.
Angel City by coasterboi is an LA type beautiful world, populated with interesting characters.
Lastly, by new favorite, Al Medina by Zach_Bundy, a gorgeous Moroccan world.

@pastacopine Thanks for the suggestions! I'm going to take a look at those worlds right now

ETA: Sadly, Angel city requires packs I don't have and so do Quailhogs worlds so I'm downloading Strangetown (A world I absolutely love from the sims 2) Cannot wait to take a look at it.

The link to Mesa Grande no longer works, CreateaWorldBlog appears to have vanished.

You can still find it here though: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/di...ted-1-4-release

I think the link on the one I linked works still. It's the newer 1.5 version on the one I linked.

Sorry, I meant to say that your link certainly goes to Sims3Catalog, but the download link there - https://createaworldblog.tumblr.com/ - just gives me a "Not Found" message.

I've been trying to find a custom world with IP diving lots included, but where sims mostly use roads to get around. So less or no boat taxis if possible. Nice looking custom worlds I found so far are from before IP. I don't know how to properly add diving lots to them (if that is even possible?) Does anyone have a suggestion about a world like this?

Dang, I downloaded one with about 3 diving lots back when and cannot remember the name whatsoever. Hope others have some suggestions for you.
Dive lots can be added to some worlds depending on water depth. There are tutorials and I think EA even did one when the EP was released. I think one was added to Sunset Valley?

Thanks for the tip. I was planning to use that yes But the worlds I found with diving lots still had seperate islands that require taxi boats. I am trying to find one where boat taxis are not mandatory.

That could be a last resort if I really can't find anything suitable. For now I am looking for either a world with diving spots in a big lake, or a world that is one big island with diving spots on the coast.

This creator has some nice worlds. They vary as to the amount of expansions and content required.https://myworlds-rflong7.blogspot.com/

This world is a remake of Sunset Valley and it has all of the IP diving spots included plus extra room to add your own lots. I mainly play this world. https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/ho...setId%3D8434125
