I'm looking for more fixer upper houses like the ones that sweetxlilac and aelflaed made. I don't want houses that are just ugly wallpaper and junk placed in the yard. I want houses that have weeds, broken and dirty appliances and plumbing, and holes in the yard. I'm not good at building houses and I don't know how to make them all rundown like the three houses on ModtheSims that I've already downloaded. Is there another site that has houses like these or does anyone know how I can make them without having to move a family in first? I want to move my Sims in and have them have to clean and repair everything, not just change wallpaper.

Back when I made the messy house (which must be the one you mean), I did it by moving a sim in to create the mess. These days, one doesn't share a house like that...but I think there is a process which can remove the sim references from the lot afterwards? I haven't tried.

If they moved a sim in, yes you did have issues, of sim references. You don't have to immediately see issues for there to be one. Game corruption most times is a bit of data being misread which accumulates and spreads.

I have a tutorial and the easiest way to mop up lots that have had sims on them is to use the add on to lot Compressor by Chris Hatch.http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=609188 You still need SimPE but you don't have to use it as such, his file does.

I did the same thing back in 07 except I included a sim so mine was even worse. Thank goodness the exchange and that lot have gone.

There are plenty of trashed lots around on MTS. If they don't say how it was trashed/if it's old, best to clean it of references before use.
