Default Anybody else having this problem?
I loaded/installed Sims 3 World Adventures and fully updated it (I think, but probably fully updated)

It loads fine initially, but as I load the game file it crashes midway through. This happened multiple times.

Here are some of my logical thoughts on the matter:

To much downloadable content?

Bad game file? (last night there was a thunder storm and the power went out in the middle of the game. I was in china)

Not fully updated

would there be any other reason to why this happened?

I would hate to assume the patches EA has been releasing are "bad"

thanks for the feedback

In order to better solve your problem, please go through the following as listed below:
  • General - Post System Specs
    We need more information before we can help with your issue. Please post your system specs - instructions on finding them are here: Game Help:System Specswiki
  • Sims 3 - Game Crashes
    For game crash related issues, please see this FAQ:

    Game Help:Sims 3 Crashingwiki

On occasion you might be asked to do a long FAQ - please make sure you do all the steps and don't just skip over them. You'll often find that these long FAQs have all the details you need. If nothing in the above FAQs fixes your problem you may post again detailing exactly which you have done and which steps failed.

this happened to me to, but after I removed all my core mods the game worked again. were you using awesomemod or inteen or NRaas? those were the mods I removed, but I'm not sure which one, if any, was responsible.

Uh, the NRaas stuff (which is Twallan, if I remember correctly) has been updated to work with WA and the patch. I'm using quite a few things (after getting the friggin' game to finally load).

Default How do i solve this?
I did a clean install, fully updated and so fourth.

I updated my video driver and now my game doesn't run at all!! I often got the blue screen (computer shutting down without asking - driver fail)

I don't know what to do...

I made a backup but it doesn't work

Have you already played The Sims 3 before this? If not... you probably do not meet the minimum requirements.

You can check your system capability by typing in DIXDIAG in the search bar on the start menu (if you have VISTA or Windows 7) in XP by going into run and typing DIXDIAG.

System Requirements for The Sims 3...

FOR WINDOWS XP

* 2.0 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1 GB RAM
* 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
* The latest version of DirectX 9.0c
* Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 2
* At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

FOR WINDOWS VISTA

* 2.4 GHz P4 processor or equivalent
* 1.5 GB RAM
* 128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0
* Microsoft Windows Vista Service Pack 1
* At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games

For computers using built-in graphics chipsets under Windows, the game requires at least:

* Intel Integrated Chipset, GMA 3-Series or above
* 2.6 GHz Pentium D CPU, or 1.8 GHz Core 2 Duo, or equivalent
* 0.5 GB additional RAM

FOR MAC OS X

* Mac OS X 10.5.7 Leopard or higher
* Intel Core Duo Processor
* 2 GB RAM
* ATI X1600 or Nvidia 7300 GT with 128 MB of Video RAM, or Intel Integrated GMA X3100.
* At least 6.1 GB of hard drive space with at least 1 GB of additional space for custom content and saved games
* This game will not run on PowerPC (G3/G4/G5) based Mac systems, or the GMA 950 class of integrated video cards.

Windows Supported Video Cards

FX 5900, FX 5950
6200, 6500, 6600, 6800

8400, 8500, 8600, 8800
9300, 9400, 9500, 9600, 9800
G100, GT 120, GT 130, GTS 150
GTS 250, GTX 260, GTX 280, GTX 285, GTX 295

ATI Radeon™ series

X300, X600, X700, X800, X850
X1300, X1600, X1800, X1900, X1950
2400, 2600, 2900

If either you do not have enough space the game wont install. However if you get the blue screen of death (crash) then its either your Video card that is outdated or not able to run The Sims 3, your processor power maybe too low or you have insufficient RAM, I would suggest upgrading if you determine that you do not meet any one of the requirements.

I don't know which video card you have but there are issues with the latest Nvidia and ATI drivers, which have been admitted by the manufacturers.

Nvidia 191.07 will not work with the Sims 3, they say drop back to an earlier version.

ATI Catalyst 9.9 may also have issues, update to 9.11

You already have an active help thread so there was no reason to make a whole new post. Combing threads. If you would like help you need to actually do what we've already suggested.. go through the Game Crash Help Guide and post your specs.
