Default Can't use Eyedropper for CC
Hello Simmers,

Just got on here with a simple question, I'm not sure if it's a bug or a commonly known issue that I couldn't find on either the forum or google, but I couldn't find an answer to this.

I downloaded some CC objects, and as I was decorating my house with them, I noticed that when I tried to use the eyedropper, they all go directly to "Styled Rooms".
The objects are named rather rudimentary, after the package name (Which I would also like to fix). They can be also found normally in their own proper categories.

Can I fix this somehow? Or is this a known bug for specific custom content? I have some basic modding skill and can follow tutorials pretty well if someone would know a fix.

I'm not quite sure how you mean "they go to styled rooms" but it sounds like they don't have proper catalogue tags. Normally when you copy a CC item, just ike with Maxis items, it should show you the relevant catalog section.

If that's it (and not your game being broken somehow) that would be a simple fix -- albeit somewhat tedious since you'd have to check / fix every colour variant of every item, this wouldn't be a global setting that's only used once per object. But the first thing you should do is notify the creator -- have you done that already? If they fix it on their side, it'd be fixed for everyone, not just you.

If you want to give it a try see this post in Create http://modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=551120 , that tells you where those flags are. The catalogie tags are in "Catalogue Tags" in the COBJ and if you want to change the name, you need to make a new STBL (string) resource where you put your desired name, then give it a key hashed from something reasonably unique (like "alphasoldier_table-from-suchandsuch", and put that key in the "name hash" field in the COBJ.

Post in Create > Objects if you have questions. You might also want to link to one of the items in question so one can see for certain what the issue is actually.

You make a good point that I should simply let the creator know. The only thing is, it's a really annoying website (not this one, lol), they seem to be creating content exclusively for them, and I honestly don't even want an account there.
I'm not entirely sure if it's okay to cross-post other Sims CC websites, so I'd rather avoid that. If anything, I'll just say it's the "Wired Set" from there. Anyone knowing the CC would know what I'm talking about.

And having taken an hour or so to see how far I could get with modding, I must say that I am completely lost, haha. Modding seems to have gotten harder since Sims 3?

Thanks for the reply either way!

I wouldn’t know why it would not be OK to link to other sites here. Except when it's porn-like stuff or other content not suitable for under 13 year olds, of course.
