Features I don't want:

1. secuROM, das bastard that can damage hardwares. No arguement on that coz it did damage my hardwares.

2. No lame codes in the AI, bhav, shaders! Come on, why we are buying so many poor codings to run on our machines?

3. no rush on the release. We need not so many bugs and problems.

4. no Spore-like sharing system. Not all custom content makers want their their products shared by anyone and anywhere randomly. Not all downloaders want all the contents they don't want in their game copies or PC. At least, there must be arbitrary control means by the users including custom content makers and downloaders.

5. toy-doll or clay-dolls graphics. Children and teens are not mentally retarded!

6. no duplicate textures or monochromic-recoloured textures, use the recolouring codes and provide the filtering tools!

7. probably no excessive jpg or useless graphics in the lot packages if that's the case. Users should be able to choose if they want some of those graphics for lot previews. So, one can choose a list of them with check boxes.

8. no too simplified control bars Please provide multiple user interfaces for various users. at least 2 to 3 types of user control bars.. The most detailed and compounded will be the major control bar, the other "simpler" control bars will just be the features hidden for easier future upgrades!

Features I want:

1. colour palette, RGB sliders and inputs for modular objects, modular clothings, skin tones, modular accessories, etc
So, all the materials are unified for RGB sliders and inputs in both scales (00-FF and 1-256)
I wanted this feature for TS2 before its release!

2. repository texture inputs and custom folder for it.
So, we can add in textures for various recolourings including skintone, modular clothing, modular objects, modular accesories, etc.

3. Unified blendings: environment maps, bump-maps, alpha maps, etc can all be an a check box to enable for whatever materials including the processing "materials" like the vector-reflection and "wavy" animations and etc.
We users can choose a list of both in-game and custom maps and material types to blend together to make out more complex materials!

4. Customisable bhav and the alike! We can set the tune scores or even the pathways for our own custom funs!

5. customisable and repository animations!
We want custom animations for various funs!

6. New lot structure! We don't wanna bend the grid layer in order to make a basement. We want customisable cube boxes where sims can move on for foundations, stage, split levels, stories, columns, etc...
The pieces of grid layer paper should be made into paper aeroplanes and throw them away! Or use them to clean the butts after conveniences!

7. More realistic graphics: not like the toy-doll or clay-dolls but more life-like.

8. user-sharable custom contents. We should be able to decide if we want to share certain custom contents. We should be able to keep own copyrighted materials and/or textures in own games instead of their being "stolen" We should be able to decide who we want to share them with. So, no Spore sharing system, too!

9. animation or command-kill functions.
It's pretty damn ridiculous when the sims has to finish all parts of an animation before moving on. Either make the animation in more modular forms especially for long actions like reading a book, returning a book stoppable, or enable the kill command on running an animation and jump the sims back into the default posture fast. It's really annoying to watch the sims is doing things too slowly or absurdly while users can stop or speed the action up.
Users should be able to control the speed of an action a sims can do.
As in real life, we can choose to act faster or slower. At least 5 speed choices. If customisable, the better that is.

10. better routing. presently, it sucks.

Please, oh please, no more cartoonish animations! They make me feel I'm watchin the Disney Channel >.< And no more cartoonish looking sims either! This time around I would really like to see more life-like sims.
Also please, no more ugly useless art! (paintings, statues etc.)
For that matter, no more ugly clothing either. I know the sims can't all walk around in the newest fashion, that's not very logical, but at least make clothes people would actually wear.

You know what I forgot to say... Well, I better not get hit in the head for saying this, because it probably belongs in the Paysite Debate forum...

I DO NOT WANT a vague EULA, that doesn't say whether or not paysites are allowed. I just want to know if paysites will be allowed or not this time. Hopefully not!

Yep fway! I don't want any paysites for Sims 3. The best creators offer their downloads for free.

Omg, yes, you're right, that should be a given. I made a granny and her grandchild not long ago and had to make an ugly maxis adult to kill off when I entered the lot just to establish the relation. Insane.

This was too funny, sorry, lol. I actually do the same but for when I want a teen to live alone.

I like a lot of these suggestions. I also don't want poor animations. I hate it that Sims can go through objects when performing certain interactions such as dancing together, they go through a desk or table, etc.

Also, I agree that we should be able to not have the teens and younger Sims be related to any adult. Actually I wish at least teens could be created alone in CAS without adults.

EDIT: Allison, is that part of the "Triumph Of The Heart" music video by Björk? Cute music video!

Yes, but I just used the avatar because I like cats. Particularly gigantic dancing ones wearing suits...

LOL understandable, it can be hard to get used to Björk if you are not into the "weird" world of music. I still love her, though.

Another feature I don't want is the same relationship types we have in TS2. Best friends are not that easy to make and people don't fall in love instantly after the first flirt and adults should get to be in a committed relationship without it being an engagement. Friends should work like where it can and cannot be easily made, depending on the Sims and same with best friends. And the BFF from Free Time... ditch it, EA, unless it's for teens and younger only AND/OR it has a different title. I'm sorry but that title is way too immature for most adults. Also, please allow us to get to choose the actual gender preference of Sims because it irritates when I want to make a gay Sim and can still technically fall in love with the opposite sex, AND vise versa.

Ditto.

I also would not like tons of ugly objects (furniture, clothing...) that I can't get rid of and have to scroll through all the time. I hope we can delete anything we don't want and to have lots of options of which features we want while playing.

The problem is, the game would be corrupt if we deleted files from it.

Sorry, but that's probably not going to happen. Maxis has a quirky sense of humor as we all know, so expect them to put a bunch of magic creatures in the game. Besides, there are also players that love fantasy elements in their game, me included. So we'd be disappointed if they took that stuff out

I agree, Allison. Creatures were a success in TS2 so they will only remain successful in TS3.

I DO NOT want SSX3 for any other game software installed on their computers.

I agree. Plus by that time, I'm sure the games will be updated to whatever is around at the time of the release. I'm sure Spore would be included since it will only have been out for a few months when TS3 comes out. Maybe the other upcoming MySims games like the Kindgom and Party ones. Personally, they need to now make more selections of games by genre/type.

There's not really anything I don't want in the game because I know other people would probably want it. I just want to be able to turn anything off or delete it if I don't like it.

As for deleted files corrupting the game, put content files on a separate disk, that way we could delete it just like custom content, and then put it back if we wanted.

As for the sims playing games, I would like to see them play Wii. That wouldn't be as boring as watching them play on the computer.

Me too. I love my vamps and werewolves, the game wouldn't hold my interest for very long if I didn't have these creatures to spice it up. I would also love to have wizards/witches/magic in the game as well.
I'm a huge fan of fantasy books and movies, but at the same time I want the game to be more realistic if that makes any sense, lol. Mainly; -I don't want the cartoonish look of the characters and the silly animations. I want their behaviours/interaction to be more realistic. Better AI. They should look and feel more like real people.

I completely agree with you. I love vampires and other creatures. They really spice my hoods up. If there wasn't any creatures in TS3 that would be a one reason for me to not to buy it. You aren't forced to use magic features so I don't see why there couldn't be some.
I do want them to be more realistic though. I like their comical way of living and this slapstick humor has always been a part of the sims series. I do NOT want it to be too real but more than it's now. The way how they act should depend more of their personality. I can see that some fun loving guy could do stupid childlish things but not those serious ones. Now they too are having pillow fights and other stupid stuff all the time.
I really want them to be more unique and have more unique relationships.

Yeah, I'm sure it won't happen, just as most things we put forward in this thread probably won't happen hehe. I like the occasional Eaxis wink to the audience in the form of something quirky, but full-on living werewolves and vampires just mess with the playing, IMO. Or at least with my playing. But to each his own.

I also believe that won't happen but I would like if there's an option to completely turn off all magic stuff in your hood. I'd prefer that to having to actively avoid it all the time. Otherwise it would definitely ruin the whole game for me if there were some magic aspects I couldn't avoid this time around...

As for corrupt files, like Will Galen said, it would be awesome if the game content installed itself in a separate folder much like the downloads folder where you can get rid of anything (and you can put it back if you want). Knowing the previous Sims games I will find at least 50% of the furniture and clothing unbearable and just a nuisance to scroll through. The more customizable the game is the better it is for everyone.

I haven't really thought much about TS3,but I really hope they take out those annoying interactions like "What's This?" and replace them with interactions that are actually useful.

Like alot of people have said before,I really hope there's an option to turn on/off mystical/fantasy things for each neighborhood,so you wouldn't have Vampires roaming around a neighborhood that's supposed to mirror the 1960's or something like that.

I don't want to see:

-face templates like the TS2 Maxis ones. Yech

-a limited variety of hair styles and clothing, ESPECIALLY for men. They really need to make a lot more nice content for men. The last time our boys got new Maxis shirts was Nightlife! AND THEY'RE UGLY!! I'm tired of being so limited with my guys, while my ladies have so much from which to choose.

-a body shop that sucks as bad as the one we have now. It's cumbersome and time-consuming to delete stuff, and it takes 8 million years to load and shut down. It's an enormous pain in the ass, especially when I really only use it to export and import textures.

-better townie names. "Leelaporn" was funny the first few times, especially being a Futurama fan... but now it isn't. I know that most of the names come from the developers' names, but still... I can't pronounce a lot of them, being an native English speaker. It also irks me that the name and apparent ethnicity NEVER MATCH. Seeing a white Amy Wong messes with my poor head.

-"joined union." There isn't really any racism in the game... but there is built-in heterosexism. I know that gay marriage isn't legal in the vast majority of the world, but still... I don't like seeing "separate but equal" in my game.

That's it for now!

I don't want...
...Rabbit holes we can't edit to fit into the town (it would suck if all the schools are brick buildings when you have a adobe desert neighborhood, or a bunch of tall office buildings in the middle of the woods.) I want to be able to atleast have a option of type of rabbit hole, and possibly even further editation of it (such as doors, windows, exterior wall covering, how the roof is, stuff that goes outside of it)

I also do not wish to see the same CAS clothing thing. I want to be able to pick and choose clothing design like in some of the console sims games. Like... you have a shirt option, a jacket option, pants option, shoe option, sock option, etc, then be able to choose color and stuff. Possibly even choose designs.

I think it's cool that the game won't have everything dependent on materialism, but I do want benefits from having a better costing items other then "it looks cool in pictures and stuff".

That would be layerable clothing and I hope we do get this. I want clothing to be detached from the Sims' bodies like in real life. I also want jewelry, glasses, accessories, etc. AND PLEASE MAKE HATS SEPARATE, LIKE AN ACCESSORY! I cannot stand hats being part of the hair. Almost every EP we get for TS2, we seem to get more hat hairstyles than non-hat hairstyles. Oh... and facial piercing to be enabled for teens this time, like from BV/FT they aren't.

I don't want to see sims coming into my house just because I introduce myself to them,
just rude of them eating my food and breaking my stuff, "GET OUT" ,lol...
I think I read somewhere about friends who call you up and literraly "dump you", because
you don't talk to them cause you're too busy, can do without that.

Oh and a seperate building program...

Well seeing as how we are getting social norms in the game, it won't be exactly like that. So if we introduce ourselves, polite Sims with manners won't eat our food or watch TV, only rude Sims will.
